Reasons to Blog, even with hardly any readers
I was reading a helpful blog about how to get more readers to your blog. This was kind of interesting, because for years, I’ve wanted more people to read my blog. Yes, I’ve had Tantalizing Tidbits for YEARS now. It began waaay back when I lived in Boston still. It actually began on my myspace blog (back when myspace was still cool), and shortly thereafter blossomed out to a real blog. It’s been over 4 years, and I’ve kept it up. Why? Because I love writing. I started writing things as a kid. I’d write short stories, plays, little books in school… As soon as I could physically write, I was writing. I had diaries and journals. I kept track of what tv shows and books I watched, and everything else. I later burned all of that. For a couple years after the burning, I didn’t write. I didn’t really take photos. I love taking photos. Then I started again. I need to write and photograph what happens in my life. Without it, nothing is documented. I might forget. I do forget. But if it’s written down and blogged, if there are photos, I can look back and remember what happened. And so can anyone else. I don’t want to fade away… I wish I had blogged and photo’d my whole life. I wish I could go back and read and see what was going on and what I was thinking and what was happening. I don’t always, or even often, write down my inner thoughts on a blog, but I can read between the lines and the events and photos jar my memory to what I was feeling and what was going on behind the scenes at the time. Without the words and pictures, things tend to fade to mist. Even without that, I cant help it. I’ll be walking down the street, and a narration of words pops into my head, cluttering it. I have to write some of that out sometimes, to make some space.
I do try somewhat to get other people to read my blog. I comment, I post it up a couple places, I write a lot, I put up photos… I thought I would get more people reading it. But after a few years, I realized that probably won’t happen. One reason is, it’s scattered, like my brain. These are TIDBITS. Here and there, about everything I think of. Not all about one subject like more popular blogs. And it’s about me. If you don’t know me, you might not always be interested. And if you do know me, you might not read it, because you were there lol. I wish I could make more people read, and comment, and discuss what I write, but even if that doesn’t happen, my blog is still one of my favorite things ever. I hope to continue forever. Even if I’m the only one who reads it.

I read it… and I miss you! =)
Hmm..but who are you and why do you miss me, mr/s anonymous?
A big part of my blog is about my healthy journey and weight loss, but another part of it is about things I love, like cooking, photography, films, music. There's more to people than just one aspect of their life. It wouldn't be true of me (to myself at least) to limit what I write to one topic. It just isn't who I am, so I'm glad you're writing tidbits too!
Having my blog keeps me accountable to myself and it helps that others read it too because it makes me want to stay accountable to them. It helps me figure out what I'm thinking, write about my frustrations, or come to appreciate my revelations. It's like liberation for me. So I embrace my blog, readers or no readers.
Keep writing and doing what you love!
I love your blog! I don't always comment but I do read it. Wish I had the balls to put out there the things going on in my head…but I always think people won't be interested. And I'm also lazy about writing even though I've always been told I'm good at it…I am a sort of philosophy student after all!
So, keep it up, your blog is fun!
I know exactly what you mean!! I love to write. While my blog may be quick and therefore not exactly the literary masterpiece, it definitely has ignited my desire to write more often. And we definitely love to read your posts. So keep on going!
and sometimes it is freeing to know that only a few are peeking in.
I still have a tiny personal blog that only about 4 people other than myself read.
xo xo
I usually read your entries, but I am often rushing off afterward, so I rarely have any real time to comment.
Guess that makes me a bit of a lurking voyeur.
If you love writing, who cares if you have readers? I have readers come and go. Honestly, they aren't the important thing. I write for me and if people want to read, that's cool. It's going to happen either way.
Nope, you're not the only one. I found it from MrsFatass's blog and really like it. Love your photos.
