SOPA, PIPA & Everything Else, maybe the world WILL end soon…

I’ve known about SOPA for a while now. I’ve been signing petitions. When i first heard about it, i thought it was fake, a joke. That can’t happen here, not in the US, we have free speech! But i signed the petition anyway, just in case. And sadly, it was no joke. Finally, yesterday everyone else started taking notice. We’ll see if wikki’s blackout and the petitions and google and etc will do some good. My friend posted this article, about other laws that have recently passed taking away freedoms. I’d heard of them. They keep building up. Then, of course, there’s the unemployment, people having no money, leading to more crimes being committed…I can attest to that personally, as my apartment was broken into a couple months ago! Cuts to healthcare, education, all the other important programs… And it’s not only that! Did you notice that the world is losing its creativity, or at least popular culture is? Half the movies, shows, books and songs are remakes of older movies, shows, books and songs, or just all the same. I feel like the world is dumbed down. Maybe the world won’t literally end in 2012, but at some point soon, the world as we know it could all fall apart. It’s on the brink – hunger, homelessness, loss of freedom, and brainless zombie people OR the awesome technology will make our society take off. People can learn to eat better, find some way to improve people’s lives in every way, and we could be living in a cool Jetson’s world. What will it be – 1984 or Jetsons? I’m holding my breath to see what will happen, and i’m worried. In the meantime, make sure you sign a few petitions against SOPA and PIPA, educate yourself. And cross your fingers.
