My Birthday Party at Chaos and about the Next One

My birthday was on thanksgiving this year, when no one’s around to celebrate it. Honestly, even when it’s a couple days away from thanksgiving, it’s still not a good time to celebrate it, so most of the time, I don’t.  This year, I decided I would. My best friend runs a club night now, and I help him, so why not use it to celebrate me being 33? So that’s what I did! The weekend AFTER my birthday, I had my birthday party. To be honest, had it not been my birthday party, i don’t think anything would have been different about that night. I definitely did not want cake in a club, or a special birthday song or anything like that. My birthday was at Chaos at Beatbox, and we brought in DJ Luis from San Diego. He played at the SD Pride after after party at Spin, and a lot of us had tons of fun that night, so it was time for him to come play in SF. And of course, the other dj was my best friend DJ Tristan Jaxx. I had an errand-filled day, then went to the club space where we set it up. I love being there in the empty club before it opens, and then seeing people fill in and make it into a living event. The music was great, the crowd was awesome, the lights superb. I think everyone enjoyed themselves! I literally did not realize how many people I know, and who know me, till my whole night was filled with ‘happy birthday’s every few minutes. So nice!! I love our monthly Chaos nights, even when it’s not my birthday, so I can’t wait for the next one – Saturday January 28th at Beatbox in San Francisco, with djs Freddy Agredano, Alex Acosta and Tristan Jaxx!
