Update on Being an Auntie
It’s been a while since I’ve mentioned baby Lana on the blog, but I do mention her in real life. Ever so often people tell me, well you seem to care a lot about your niece, I think you really want your own baby. Such reasoning doesn’t make sense at all. When I was young, the future presented to me was that I’d go to college, get a job, get married, have babies, and that my brother and sister would do the same. I’ve been thinking a lot about my trip to NH next week for my niece’s baptism (although with my bad track record lately about actually publishing blogs, I might already be back home again lol) and taking my role as godmother seriously. I will definitely be blogging about that experience! I was pondering how this is a responsibility to watch over my sister’s child for the rest of her life. I’m an AUNTIE!
Almost 28 years ago (in june) my mother was pregnant with my sister. I had a little 2 yr old brother, but he had always gone out of his way to pull my hair or try and hurt me, so I was super excited to have a sister. Beth was late, so my parents decided to have her induced. Back then, we didn’t live very far from my grandparents, and my parents left us kids with them. I’m going to be a godmother!
If, by now, you don’t know that my sister is having a baby soon and i’m going to be an aunt, then you must be BRAND NEW to my blog, twitter, facebook, etc. My sister’s first child, my first niece, is special to me. What could be better, then, when the day after the shower my sister and brother in law got me on skype again, and asked me to be the baby’s godmother?! YAY! My sister Beth’s Baby Shower!
Me in CA, My Sister and Cousin in NH My sister is pregnant and the baby is coming soon, at the beginning of April. Baby coming means baby shower! I am not big on baby showers. Any event where a large group of women gather is scary, and especially if they’re all on maternal overdrive, with their hormones revved up about some baby stuff. Baby Shopping
It’s been a while since I’ve written about my sister’s baby. Yes, she’s still pregnant. There’s an 80something percent chance it’s a girl, which I didn’t really care either way if it was a boy or a girl anyway. Except I think that a girl is going to be more fun to shop for. I’ve never been a baby store/baby clothes sort of person. I know some women like to browse that stuff just cuz, but not me. Finding Your Grandmother Name
Here’s a blog I wrote mid August, but couldn’t release it until now..My sister’s pregnancy is the first on our side of the family, and since she thinks writing is boring, and didn’t want to do my idea of starting a blog about it, it’s up to me to blog about interesting baby type things.
