Tastie Tidbits – My New Restaurant Blog!

I’ve hinted on facebook and twitter that something exciting was coming, and now it’s here! I’ve finally gotten my new restaurant blog Tastie Tidbits up and running! I know it’s true that sometimes i have a hard time even updating ONE blog (this one, of course), but ive been writing and writing restaurant reviews on yelp.com for years, and i finally thought, well this is dumb. I might as well just put them onto my own blog and gain some credit for it! Right? Blogger doesnt let you fully add a new page to a blog, not with individual posts and things, but it DOES let you add a page with a blurb and link. So that’s what I’ve done. If you like food, be sure to click over to … Read entire article »

I’m not a big pizza person, but when i order it, i want it to be good. We’ve tried the regular pizzas, the calzones, and recently, the deep dish pizza with their special sauce. Everything is great! Not greasy, well priced for pizzas, big size, fresh and tasty. … Read entire article »

Five Star Restaurant: Paramount

ParamountAwesome Breakfast in Beacon Hillhttp://www.paramountboston.com/44 Charles St. Boston, MA 02114617.720.1152 This was down the street from my old apartment in Beacon Hill, Boston, and i went there for brunch a couple of times.  For breakfast and lunch, you walk in, get in line, order, get the food, then sit down. Dont sit down till you have your food. This works well, actually, and everyone has a seat.  The food is SO GOOD.  they have the BEST buttermilk blueberry pancakes!!  You know how sometimes they taste all weird, and restauranty, but these taste like homemade.  The sandwiches are good too, and they are very accomadating with any special orders.  At night for dinner, the place changes into a sit down restaurant, but i never went there for that.I haven’t been since I … Read entire article »

Five Star Restaurant: B.Good

B.goodA healthy version of fast food, in Boston’s Back Bayhttp://www.bgood.com/131 Dartmouth St. Boston, MA 02116617.424.5252 This is a fast food place that’s actually healthy!! the fries are baked, not fried, but taste fried.  the shakes are good, the burgers are yummy and so filling you almost get a tummy ache!  mmm different veggie burgers!! go here. its more expensive than a real fast food place but you wont die from the food, so its a good trade off.  I haven’t been since 2006, but keep hoping they will open one up in SF, because we still talk about those healthy burgers to this day. … Read entire article »

Five Star Restaurant: Cafe Podima

Cafe PodimaGreek and Wraps in Beacon Hill156 Cambridge Street, Boston, MA 02114617.227.4959 This restaurant is a blast from the past. It used to be just down the street from me when I lived in Beacon Hill in Boston. In fact, one of the first conversations I remember with my best friend, Tristan Jaxx, was him telling me how much he liked this place, and I agreed (back when we were neighbors, not roomies).  Yummy specialty sandwiches and wraps.  The sandwiches are toasted and very big!  The jasmine rice you can get as a side is so good too!! You can also have frozen yogurt, shakes, and sundaes.  Or soup or salad or calzones.  Very convenient, but this is a take out place.  Only a couple of tables and you’re not really … Read entire article »

Five Star Restaurant: Ana Mandara

Ana MandaraUpscale Vietnamese Asian Fusion at Fisherman’s Wharfhttp://www.anamandara.com/891 Beach St. San Francisco, CA 94109415.771.6800 I’ve been here one time. The guy I was dating, Jose, took me here for Christmastime dinner in 2006.  It is a little pricey for me to go back so much, and i never get to the wharf. But I loved it. it’s absolutely gorgeous!  There is a very high ceiling, with the inside set up like a palace and courtyard in vietnam.  We sat on the patio, overlooking the courtyard and gate, all filled with more people.  I loved the blue fish fountain, and the empty bird cages. I mentioned to jose that there should be real birds flying around. Although that might add unwanted seasoning to the meals…  The food itself was delicious.  Beautiful, poetic … Read entire article »

Five Star Restaurant: Hung To Seafood Restaurant

Hung To Seafood RestaurantDim Sum in South San Franciscohttp://www.hungtoseafood.com/221 S Spruce St., South San Francisco, CA 94080650.877.0828 I’ve been here once, at the end of 2006. That’s because you need to drive to get here. Although South San Francisco sounds like part of SF, it’s actually a different city. This is very out of the way, we felt like we were driving into the middle of nowhere, with lots of factories.  But we made it.   The dim sum was good, we didnt have much of a wait.  As soon as we sat down, there were tons of dishes thrown at us, instead of having to sit there hungry.  The food was yummy, and not even expensive. I wish this place were closer so we could go there without a … Read entire article »

Five Star Restaurant: Axum Cafe

Axum CafeEthiopian food in Lower Haighthttp://www.axumcafe.com/698 Haight St., San Francisco, CA 94117415.252.7912 I first went to Axum cafe back in early 2007 when I took my date here, but in short time after that, i went back again, and again, taking various friends. This was my second ever ethiopian place, the first being a place over in the mission. Before that, i didnt know ethiopian food existed. The food comes on a plate of spongey bread, with more of the spongey bread on the side, and you eat the food with the bread. I like meat, but in my opinion, the vegetarian options are the best here, so that’s what i get. With the veggie combo, you get to choose 3 veggie dishes. Beware, the owner will try to get you … Read entire article »
