aaah to L word mania

It’s that time of year again. No, I’m not talking about the inaguration or any other important thing. It’s L word time again. Every year at this time, mostly here in SF, the L word begins a new season, and suddenly, I hear way too much about it. I never saw it the first seasons it was on…it’s a Showtime show and back then I didn’t know how to see things on channels I didn’t get. After I moved here and started witnessing the L word mania, I found the episodes on YouTube and various other places online and started to watch it. It wasn’t bad… I didn’t have a tv and it was a good way to pass the time. I managed to watch last year’s season pretty much … Read entire article »

What to watch: Film threat’s the making of still green series

With all of the random junk that is on tv these days, you may find that you need to look elsewhere for some quality entertainment. Internet shows and podcasts are one good bet… I started watching a new show/documentary/reality show online, called the making of still green on film threat. It’s on the website and also you can subscribe to it as a vidcast/podcast. I have to admit, one big reason I like this show is because the star is my brother doug. He is one of the main characters… well, maybe I shouldn’t say characters since it’s real. In short shows, you get a behind the scenes look at how one independent movie was made. All of the people who were making the movie live in a house … Read entire article »

Banning tv ads for kids in the UK

in the uk, they have banned junk food/bad food ads on all tv that kids under 16 would watch. This is kind of a controversial move, and what do I think of this? Well, what do you think of this? On one hand, it’s great. Childhood obesity is going up and up. Kids are small, so they should have a faster metabolism, and plus theyre growing, so they need lots of fuel, but the fuel theyre getting is mostly junk, so they get fat. If theyre fat kids, it might be harder for them to be healthy adults. So I can see why the government would want to try to monitor this – to try to have a healthier population. There are two main objections to that I can think … Read entire article »

leave tila alone! (lol)

I have never watched the tila tequila show. For those of you who don’t know, she is the girl who got famous from having so many myspace friends. The other year, she was my myspace friend too, but I took her off because at the time, I was trying to keep my friend #s down, and she had a lot of friends so I thought we’d never end up talking. Anyway, she became a musician, and also got a reality dating show. Only, hers had a twist. Tila is bi, so there were both guys and girls on her show, vying to win. I’d like to see the show sometime. I think that would be a pretty interesting concept. Last nite from when I’m writing this, she picked her … Read entire article »

Will and Grace

I know lots of people have written blogs on this subject, but the show is over forever, and so i wanted to write one too. Last night was the will and grace series finale. I think that it was long overdue. I haven’t been watching the show regularly lately, but of course i had to see the very last one. This show had been on FOREVER. Eight years. I actually started watching it right when it first came on. i was 19 and i had had very little exposure to gay people. There was Paul, who acted in plays with my sister when she was little, who seemed nice, there was the director of a play my brother was in, and i … Read entire article »
