This is How it Starts
Days upon days, super busy at work, more things piled on top of others before anything has time to get done. Headaches, nausea, stress. I have no energy, I don’t want to eat, I don’t want to do anything. I don’t want to go to my bodypump class. I don’t want to take the time to cook dinner. This is how it starts. One day, skipping the gym, eating badly, blossoming into another, and another. Less and less energy till I’m a lump and the cubes have won. I fought against it…felt like crying, so drained, went to my exercise class. Lifting those weights, the endorphins flowed into my body. I was glad I came. That gave me just enough oomph to get home and cook and eat dinner. Cubes … Read entire article »

An Observation
Work clothes today: grey shirt w a tiny bit of light blue around waist, grey undershirt, grey jeans and silver grey sandals. Workout clothes: magenta headland, bright pink t-shirt w a bright green dinosaur and white words, black and magenta workout pants, white socks, bright cheery blue sneakers w white decoration. I guess that’s a subconscious reflection on where I’m happier… … Read entire article »

How my work from home day went
I’ve been wanting to write about the “work from home” day that I said I was going to take, which I did in fact take, the Friday before last I think it was, since it happened. To recap – frustrated by my lack of time to get anything done, especially writing, I decided to just take a day off from my regular paying cubicle drone job to get some REAL stuff done. For that one day, the plan was to live how I would LIKE to live, if I didn’t have an office job. Kind of a test, would I be productive? How would it go? It was HEAVENLY!! The night before, I stayed up my usual late, but not to any super late times. I was in bed by … Read entire article »

Work at Home Day – Sorry this Blog’s been Lagging
I have tons of ideas and something exciting and new for my little blog, but lately, I’ve been having a VERY HARD time gettting to actually work on it! Busy at work, brain dead when I get home, technical difficulties this past Sunday when I’d hoped to make some headway… It can be quite frustrating! And boring to readers as well! So, I’m thinking I will make this Friday a ‘work from home’ day, where I take the day off from my cube job to get some real life stuff done. Then it can overflow into the weekend, where I also plan on doing some halloween costume shopping! I seriously don’t know how people with a family, especially kids, manage to do it, fit that stuff in in the … Read entire article »

Why some of us get colds more than others (its the cube’s fault!)
I get a lot of colds. Not that a cold is a horrible thing… im not gonna die from it. But they sure are annoying!! So I was wondering, WHY do I get all of these colds? I work out, I eat ok, I take vitamins… my roommate hardly ever gets sick, even when he’s exposed to me being ms sicky in our small lil apartment. What is the difference? I think I blame my office. There are three reasons for this. One, just the fact that everyday I’m in close quarters with tons of other people, and we have no ventilation such as open windows or floors. I sit in a closed office building in a cube, on the 26th floor. Do you think any real air ever makes … Read entire article »

Cubicles – killing souls a little at a time
Here is a little blog i wrote yesterday in between moving boxes around. I’m glad to have a job at all, but I do believe the below:You know what one of the things that irks me the most about my job? there is no sense of accomplishment. I can’t say oh I have so much work, but after I do x and y, it will be done, and i’ll have this finished product to show for it. No, I have so much work, and i work at it and work at it and more and more falls on top of what i’m doing and there’s nothing ever accomplished. We don’t make anything, create anything, help anyone. There’s never a point where we go, well, look at that! good job! It’s … Read entire article »

Bye bye life, blogs, etc.. but at least i have a job…
Every day, I wake up in darkness, get ready for work, make my lunch, and am on my way. Every day, I sit in a cubicle, and try to cram as much work as I can in before the end of the day. When I’m failing, I don’t take my lunch break outside, I just run to the small break room that everyone forgets about, and quickly eat my sandwich there for a few minutes. If that doesn’t work, I might stay a bit later, if I don’t have a gym class after work. Hopefully, I run to the gym afterwards… sometimes a stop to the grocery store after that or not…. And then I’m home, but I’m too tired to do anything. My brain is fried. I don’t want … Read entire article »

Employers are hiring based on credit checks, unfair way to keep us down!
I just read an article that said that employers are often now using a credit check to decide who to hire. I guess since there are so few jobs and so many candidates since everyone is out of work, they have to think of random ways to narrow people down. This is SO UNFAIR! Here’s mr joe shmo and he has bad credit cuz he has not enough money to pay his bills. He already has a hard time getting a place to live or a car or a bank account. He has to pay more for everything, which makes him have less money and then fall further behind on payments, and have worse credit. What could help? A good paying job! So, he applies for a job, does well … Read entire article »

My new work/life resolution
This past Sunday I made a decision… to look better. Lol I know I’ve said that before, but mostly I was focused on “real” life, i.e. not during work time. But I was thinking, wow, I spend SO much time at work. And there’s not only work, but lunch, and walking to and from work, and to and from the gym and the grocery store… that’s a lot of time to be spent walking around feeling like I don’t look that great. And how you look isn’t JUST about appearance. If you feel like you look cute, you end up feeling better all around, more cheery and self-assured. Or… maybe that’s just me? But starting this past Monday, ive been making a concerted effort to put on makeup in the … Read entire article »

why carrie bradshaw had the perfect life
Carrie was never my favorite character on sex in the city. Samantha was my favorite, as a person, by far, and then maybe miranda. Carrie did beat out charlotte though (never liked her at all). But if I could steal one of their lives, it would absolutely be carrie’s. carrie’s life was perfect. She had it all… a great apartment in the city, some really good, close friends, fabulous clothes and shoes, invites to tons of fun events and parties, lots of good food, and best of all, an awesome job. I’ve always been totally envious of carrie’s job. What did she have to do? She wrote a column, it looked like maybe once a week. She didn’t have to wake up early. She didn’t have to go to the … Read entire article »
