Cause Baby You’re a Firework

I really don’t like Katy Perry or her songs, but last month when I went to Palm Springs for White Party (click to see the full blog entry about that), I’ll admit, her song did work well with the fireworks display. I hereby give sanction for that song to go along with any fireworks display, because that’s all it’s good for lol. Sunday was a big tdance outside with rides and a really pretty fireworks display, which i videotaped. I FINALLY got the video up, super late, the other day and I’m FINALLY posting it here so that anyone who enjoys fireworks can watch it. White Party Palm Springs 2011

before the white party.. If I don’t get this blog out, it’s going to be severely old news!! The other weekend I went to my third White Party in Palm Springs. I’d gone last year, and a couple years before that. It’s always a really fun time, with tons and tons of people from here in SF going down, plus friends from all over, including my Chicago friends who I don’t get to see enough! This year was my first year in the host hotel, the Renaissance. I shared a room with my best friend Tristan, and our friend David from LA. I hate driving. it just always seems so dangerous… to myself, and especially to others. i’ve noticed tons of people who are likewise not great drivers, so it makes it even more dangerous if i’m on the road, and they’re on the road…eek.. i haven’t driven in years… except for one time a year ago when someone was too drunk and i drove a couple blocks over for her…lol. but emergencies come sometimes, so i did want to have a license. i’ve been putting it off because my MA one didn’t expire til Nov 09. and i was sure i’d fail the written drivers test you need to switch it over. but it’s time to vote, and this vote is pretty important, so i needed to be registered. so i … Read entire article »

a rant against butch/femme

Do you know what annoys me so much? The whole femme – butch thing that san Francisco has going on. What is that? Everywhere I go in sf it seems, it’s butch femme this and butch femme that. You see ads for ‘butches, pamper your femmes’ and ‘femmes, appreciate how your butches pamper you’. Eww! I do not encourage these types of stereotypes in a male/female relationship, so why should I want it in a female/female relationship (and that goes for male/male relationships too, guys). It seems outdated for a couple of reasons. The first reason being, that it makes you choose a role. No one is going to be all butch or all femme. All masculine or all female.
