For those of you who like to read about workouts – switching things up

Closer to the beginning of the year was when I realized I’d bought too many of those social couponing coupons for workout classes and they were all going to expire so close to each other that I had to carefully calendar out all of them in order to be able to use them all. This was a little bad, in that I HAD to go to each one, with no leeway, or there wouldn’t be time and some of the coupons would be wasted, but mostly good, because I had a really varied workout. For a couple months, I was always doing something new. But then those ended, and I was left with my usual gym, and the gym classes they offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and I got bored. … Read entire article »

I try EBoost Energy/Workout Supplement…

There are many workout supplements out there, but most of them seem to be geared more towards men. As much as I like to hang out with guys, I’m still just a very tiny female. One day I had an email coupon offer for an energy supplement called eboost. This was a coupon through a site geared towards women, and the price was about half off, $15 for 20 packets, so I decided to try it! I pushed order, and a week later, a box of little pink packets arrived. We had the choice of orange or pink lemonade (there’s a couple other flavors too), and I chose pink lemonade, but predictably, it doesn’t taste like lemonade. In fact, when I first wrote this blog, I thought the flavor was called pink … Read entire article »

CoreAlign – A Marvelous Machine that Fixes Your Body!

CoreAlign is pilates, but not just any pilates. I didn’t really know that when I bought a coupon for some classes. I didn’t even know that when I actually went to my first class… I went to EHS Pilates studio in the mission. It’s only a couple blocks from the 24th St Bart station, so very easy to get to. The people there were friendly. They have one bathroom you can change in, if needed, and some little cubbies within sight of the front desk where you can leave your stuff, or you can bring it upstairs with you. There is a studio downstairs, then upstairs, another studio, which you can walk through to get to the CoreAlign room where I went. Each CoreAlign class is no more than 3 … Read entire article »

My first Ballet Class since i was a Kid

I enjoy dancing a lot, but I’m really bad at it. There was a coupon for Shoebox Studio, a dance and exercise studio just 20 minutes walk from work, so I bought two. Yes, that’s six classes. When I got around to using them, I realized that most of the classes I wanted to try were kind of late. They started at 7 or 8, and ended after 8, 9, or even 10. If it were right near my house, then that’s one thing, but it kind of makes it inconvenient. My first dance class I ended up trying was ballet, 6-7:15pm on Friday, the perfect time to leave work at 5:30 and run over there. When I got there, signing up was a little confused. This studio has a … Read entire article »

I tried Belly Dancing

Over a year ago, i saw a coupon for belly dancing classes, and thought hmm I could do that. So i bought one and forgot about it. Once I remembered, it was christmas time. A storm foiled my first try to go, so i decided to start at the beginning of the next semester in the new year. Fat Chance Belly dance offers a six week beginner belly dance class. They’re drop in $10 each or $50 for 6 classes.  My first class was on a friday after work. There had been problems with the other classes of the week, so this was the first beginners class the entire semester, and it was packed. I picked a spot near the back, and our teacher led us through a crash course … Read entire article »

Gym Again

After all this time, Ive finally gotten to join the gym again. I chose 24 hr fitness, not because it’s great or anything, but gyms are more expensive in the city and it’s all I can afford. Plus it’s convenient. My first day back was Monday. I spent an HOUR consultation to sign up. 24 guy was asking me really dumb questions. Plus, he tried to get me to have a personal trainer. I told him I don’t like having people standing over me when I work out. So he went in to his boss for a LONG time and came out and said guess what I got you a special! You take a personal trainer, and we’ll make sure it’s a woman, … Read entire article »
